The DC18WA charger is the correct charger for G-Series batteries. According to Makita’s official product page, the DC18WA is not compatible with other Makita Li-ion (CXT or LXT) batteries. If you own both G-Series and LXT tools, you will need separate chargers for each.
Common Pitfalls
The 18V naming trap: Both G-Series and LXT are marketed as 18V tools, which leads many buyers to assume batteries are interchangeable. They are not. The G-Series uses a different plastic housing (often with a white/grey top section) compared to the all-black LXT battery body. Always look for the “LXT” or “G-Series” designation on both the battery and the tool.
