DeWalt DCH273 20V MAX XR Brushless SDS+ Rotary Hammer

What Battery Does the DeWalt DCH273 Use?

The DeWalt DCH273 runs on the DeWalt 20V MAX battery platform. Any DeWalt 20V MAX or XR battery will work, and FLEXVOLT batteries are backward-compatible.

About the DeWalt DCH273

The DeWalt DCH273 is a 20V MAX XR brushless SDS+ rotary hammer delivering 2.1J of impact energy. It features three modes (hammer drill, rotation only, hammer only), a 26mm maximum drilling capacity in concrete, and an active vibration control system to reduce operator fatigue. The brushless motor maximises runtime from each battery charge.

Recommended Battery

DCB205 or DCB206 — SDS hammers draw heavy current during percussion drilling. A 5.0Ah or 6.0Ah battery is the recommended minimum for concrete work.

Minimum Battery

DCB204 — A 4.0Ah battery handles lighter drilling in concrete, but battery life drops significantly during sustained heavy-duty work.

Battery Compatibility Notes

All DeWalt 20V MAX batteries share the same rail-mount system. FLEXVOLT batteries are backward-compatible at 20V. Higher Ah ratings mean longer runtime, not more power.
