Recommended Battery

For the 2804-20, the 48-11-1850 (5.0Ah) or 48-11-1860 (6.0Ah) High Output batteries are recommended. The M18 FUEL hammer drill is a high-demand tool, and larger capacity batteries ensure you get full power delivery and enough runtime for sustained drilling and hammering tasks on the jobsite.

Minimum Battery

The 48-11-1820 (2.0Ah) compact battery will run the 2804-20, but expect significantly shorter runtime under heavy load. The compact packs are best reserved for light drilling or driving screws — for hammer drilling into concrete or masonry, step up to at least a 4.0Ah or 5.0Ah pack.

Battery Compatibility Notes

  • All M18 REDLITHIUM batteries are backwards and forwards compatible with every M18 tool
  • M18 High Output batteries provide increased power and run cooler in high-demand tools like the 2804-20
  • M18 batteries are NOT compatible with M12 tools or older V18 tools
  • Milwaukee M18 batteries use a slide-on connection and include built-in fuel gauge
