Ryobi Screwdriver Bits — Best Sets for ONE+ Drills & Impact Drivers
Ryobi ONE+ is the most popular cordless platform for UK DIY users, and picking the right screwdriver bits makes a big difference to the quality of your results. While Ryobi sells their own bit sets, you can use any brand’s 1/4″ hex bits in Ryobi tools. This guide covers which bits work best in Ryobi drills and impact drivers, and whether Ryobi’s own bits are worth buying or if third-party options are better.

Which Bits Fit Ryobi ONE+ Tools?
Every Ryobi ONE+ drill/driver and impact driver accepts standard 1/4″ hex screwdriver bits. This includes the popular R18ID2 impact driver, R18DD7 drill/driver, R18PDBL brushless combi drill, and every other Ryobi model with a chuck. Any brand’s bits will work — Makita, DeWalt, Milwaukee, Wera, Bosch, or budget options.
If you own a Ryobi impact driver, you must use impact-rated bits. Ryobi impact drivers deliver enough torque to shatter standard chrome vanadium bits. See our impact driver bits guide for details on why this matters.
Ryobi’s Own Bit Sets
Ryobi sells several screwdriver bit sets under the RAK brand. These are budget-friendly and decent quality for occasional DIY use, though they don’t match the durability of Makita Impact Gold or Wera Impaktor bits for heavy use.
Ryobi RAK40SD 40-Piece Screwdriver Bit Set
A comprehensive starter set that covers PZ, PH, Torx, hex, and slotted bits in all common sizes, plus a magnetic bit holder and nut setters. The bits are standard grade (not impact-rated), so they’re best used in Ryobi drill/drivers rather than impact drivers. Very good value as a first bit set for a new Ryobi user.
Better Third-Party Options for Ryobi Users
For Ryobi impact driver owners, we’d recommend investing in quality impact-rated bits from Makita, DeWalt, or Wera rather than Ryobi’s own range. The per-bit cost is slightly higher, but the bits last significantly longer and strip fewer screw heads. Good options include:
For a comprehensive set: The Makita B-54519 Impact Gold 68-piece set — covers every bit type, all impact-rated, in a well-organised case. Works perfectly in Ryobi drivers.
For premium quality: Wera Impaktor bits — diamond-coated tips that last exceptionally well. Buy individual PZ2 and T25 Impaktor bits for the sizes you use most, then fill in the rest with a mid-range set.
For bulk PZ2 bits: DeWalt PZ2 Impact Torsion 25-pack — the most-used bit size in the UK, at a good per-bit price in impact-rated quality.
