Recommended Battery

For the 2767-20, the 48-11-1860 (6.0Ah) High Output battery is the top choice. This impact wrench draws significant current during nut-busting operations, and the high-output cells deliver sustained power without voltage sag. For all-day automotive work — removing lug nuts, suspension bolts, and axle nuts — the 6.0Ah pack ensures consistent performance.

Minimum Battery

The 48-11-1830 (3.0Ah) is the practical minimum for the 2767-20. While smaller batteries will physically fit and run the tool, the high torque demands will drain compact packs very quickly and may not deliver full nut-busting torque. For occasional light fastening only, a 3.0Ah will suffice, but step up to 5.0Ah or higher for regular use.

Battery Compatibility Notes

  • All M18 REDLITHIUM batteries are compatible, but High Output packs are strongly recommended for this tool
  • High Output batteries deliver more sustained current, which directly impacts nut-busting performance
  • M18 batteries are NOT compatible with M12 tools or older V18 tools
  • Keep a spare charged battery on hand — impact wrenches consume battery faster than most M18 tools

Battery sizing, runtime & troubleshooting

Recommended pack: Sustained heavy fastening draws hard. A 5.0Ah XC or HIGH OUTPUT pack delivers consistent torque and many more fasteners per charge than a compact pack.

Compatibility caveats: All M18 packs fit; capacity and output are the variable.

If it won’t start or cuts out: Cutting out on a stubborn nut means the pack is too small or too low — move to a 5.0Ah+.

Runtime: No official per-charge figure is published.

Versus the adjacent model: Far heavier draw than the 2853-20 impact driver on the same battery — keep the driver on compact packs and feed this wrench the big ones.
